Jalandhar Fire News: A massive fire broke out at two separate places in Punjab's Jalandhar district in the early hours of Monday. The officials stated that a massive fire broke out in a tyre factory in the industrial area of the city. The fire department and several fire engines arrived at the spot upon receiving information from the locals. Apart from this, fire also broke out in a footwear factory in Gadaipur region, creating panic among the locals. The officials stated that the fire department is already present at the spot and they are trying to control the flames.

"We received information about the fire in the Gadaipur rubber (tyre) factory around 5:15 AM. 30 fire tenders were rushed to the spot," one of the officials from the Punjab Fire Services was quoted as saying by ANI. "No injuries or casualties have been reported in the fire incident," he added.

Earlier on May 18, eight persons, including three women and a child, were killed after a massive fire broke out at a textile factory in Maharashtra's Solapur district on Sunday, officials said. As per the information, a short in the circuit triggered the blaze around 3:45 pm at Central Textile Mills situated on the Akkalkot Road in Solapur MIDC. The location is around 400 km from Mumbai.

The factory owner, identified as Haji Usman Hasanbhai Mansuri, three members of his family including his one-and-a-half-year old grandson, and four workers were charred in the fire.

An official said that the deceased individuals also included three women. The fire engines were rushed to the spot, but given the intensity of the flames, it took five to six hours for Fire Brigade personnel to control the raging flames. The official added that the firefighting operations were underway at the spot.
