In a major administrative reshuffle within the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, 58 officers belonging to the Jammu and Kashmir administrative service were transferred and shuffled across various departments, according to Jagran.com on Thursday, November 20.
Starting with the top echelon, the government has appointed Rajinder Singh Tara, a senior officer of the Jammu and Kashmir Service and Controller of the Legal Metrology Department, as Secretary of the Forest, Ecology and Environment Department.
Tariq Hussain Ganai, the Director General of the Estates Department, has been shifted to the medical department as Managing Director of the Jammu and Kashmir Medical Supplies Corporation. Earlier, he held the additional charge of this corporation. The government has appointed Sajjad Hussain Ganai as Mission Director of the Integrated Land Development Scheme. Saurabh Sharma has been appointed Secretary of the Jammu Development Authority.
Bashir Ahmad Khan has been designated as the Executive Director of the Social Welfare Department, while Shiv Kumar Gupta steps in as the Director and Controller of Legal Metrology. Furthermore, Riaz Ahmad Wani assumes the role of Special Secretary for the Science and Technology Department, and Rajendra Kumar Sharma is appointed as Special Secretary for the Skill Development Department. Finally, Ashwani Khajuria has been named Director of the Estates Department, Jammu, and will concurrently oversee the Estates Department in Kashmir.
Abid Hussain has been appointed as Additional Inspector General of Registration in Kashmir, while Ashish Kumar Gupta will serve as Special Secretary of the Power Development Department. Aashiq Hussain Lily takes on the role of Regional Director of Survey and Land Records in Srinagar, and Dhanshyam Singh has been appointed as Special Secretary of the Jal Shakti Department.
Bilal Khurshid will serve as Additional Registrar of Cooperative in Kashmir, and Riaz Ahmad Baig has been given additional charge of Tourism Development Authority, Yusmarg, and Tourism Development Authority, Tosamaidan. Natasha Kalsotra has been appointed as Registrar of the J&K Special Tribunal, while Suresh Chandra will serve as OSD to the Deputy Chief Minister. Rajesh Kumar Basotra has been appointed as Registrar in Kathua.
J-K Administrative Reshuffle: Other Major Appointments
Further appointments include Sanjeev Sharma as CEO of the Tourism Development Authority, Bhaderwah. Manzoor Ahmed has been transferred to the Law and Parliamentary Affairs Department, and Mukhtar Ahmed will serve as Assistant Commissioner, Panchayats, Jammu. Additionally, Farid Ahmed Kohli has been appointed as Joint Director of Geology and Mining, Jammu, and Naseer Mahmood Khan as Joint Director of the Rural Development Directorate, Kashmir.

JKAS officer Syed Nadeem Iqbal Andrabi has been appointed as Deputy Director, Urban Local Bodies, Kashmir. Salam Din as Deputy Director, Information in the office of Chief Electoral Officer, Peer Zahid as Deputy Director, Tourism, Kashmir and Manoj Kumar as Project Officer, Wage Employment, Kishtwar.
Abdul Khabir has been appointed as Deputy Director, Tribal Affairs Department, Jammu, while Shahzada Noor-ul-Ain is the new Deputy District Election Officer for Kishtwar. Javid Iqbal Bhat will serve as Deputy Director, Rural Sanitation, Kashmir, and Abdul Majeed Rather has been transferred to the General Administration Department.
Other Officers On New Duties
Altaf Hussain Bhat is posted as Project Officer, Wage Employment Ganderbal, and Meenakshi Jasrotia as Assistant Settlement Officer. Sugandhi Banotra is the Deputy Director (Training) of the Handloom Department, Jammu, and Ghulam Mohammad Khan is the Deputy Director, Estates, Kashmir. Key secretarial postings include Arshada Akhtar as Deputy Secretary, Planning, Development and Monitoring Department; Farooq Ahmad Bande as Deputy Secretary, Culture Department; and Manoj Kumar as Deputy Secretary, Finance Department. Additionally, Mohammad Yasin Shah has been appointed Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Budgam, Sunil Dutt as Deputy Secretary, Jammu Kashmir Professional Entrance Examination Board, and Preeti Sharma has been moved to the Social Welfare Department.
A focused set of postings involves several JKAS officers: Sania Malik and Kanchan Bala have both been assigned as Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants). New Under Secretaries include Rupali Vaid (Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board), Mansoor Ahmad (Tourism Department), Varun Bhasin and Kapil Dayol (both in Transport Department), Tajamul Yusuf (Handloom and Handicrafts Department), Sonam Verma (Finance Department), and Muzaffar Ahmad Malik (Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department).

Finally, several officers have been transferred to new departments: Abrar Ahmed Kripak to Tribal Affairs, Sandeep Singh and Akshay Sharma to the Finance Department, Aflak Ahmed to the Revenue Department, and Mohit Sharma to the Information Department. Furthermore, Sonali Arora, Under Secretary in the Planning, Development and Monitoring Department, has been shifted to the Handloom and Handicrafts Department for a new posting. These comprehensive transfer orders were formally issued by M. Raju, Commissioner Secretary of the General Administration Department.
