Tensions escalated along the India-Pakistan border late tonight as air raid sirens echoed across Akhnoor, Samba, Kishtwar and Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir. According to reports by ANI, Pakistan targeted Jammu with loitering munitions. Indian forces have retaliated against the misadventure, as the drones targeting the Indian territory were intercepted by the defence guns.

- Defence Sources said Pakistan launched eight missiles at Satwari, Samba, RS Pura and Arnia sectors

- All missiles were intercepted by Indian Air Defence units 

- As per PTI, Pakistani forces attempted to target the Jammu airport

- A complete blackout has been enforced in several areas of JK following the incident

- Pak troops have resorted to heavy shelling along LoC in Kupwara and Baramulla districts

- District administration in Udhampur appealed people to close lights in their houses, vehicles and return home 

- This came after India launched a massive military operation to avenge the killing of 26 civilians at the hands of Pakistan-backed terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam. As many as nine terror camps were destroyed in 24 strikes by the Indian Armed Forces
