The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an avalanche warning for the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, prompting authorities to step up preparedness measures.

In view of the alert, the police have shared dedicated helpline numbers to ensure swift assistance in case of any emergency. The general public has been advised to avoid unnecessary travel to high-altitude and avalanche-prone areas until weather conditions improve and the warning is withdrawn by the competent authorities.
