Jharkhand: In a chilling case from Jharkhand, a man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his wife by pushing her off a moving train and attempting to cover it up as an accident. The victim, 24-year-old Juhi Devi, was found dead near the Tori-Chetar station in Latehar district on Thursday, police said.

Initially, Mahadev Singh, the victim’s husband tried to mislead investigators by lodging a complaint at Dhurki police station in Garwah, claiming that his wife had accidentally fallen from the train. However, police launched a probe to verify the circumstances surrounding her death.

According to PTI, which cited police sources, the investigation soon revealed that Juhi’s death was not accidental but a premeditated act. The case took a turn when Mahadev Singh broke down during interrogation and confessed to the crime.
