Dhanbad School News: In view of the change in weather, the Jharkhand School Education and Literacy Department has issued fresh instructions to reopen schools for classes KG to VIII from May 13 in Dhanbad district. Earlier, due to scorching heat and heatwaves, the classes for KG to VIII in all government, non-government aided, minority and private schools were suspended starting from April 29.

The department has mentioned in its letter that classes above KG in all schools including government, non-government aided schools, minority and private schools will be conducted at their predetermined time, from May 13.

Summer Vacation To Start after May 15

The operation of private schools will be conducted as per the guidelines of the concerned school under the provisions of the RTE Act and management. Summer vacation will also start in private schools after May 15. Vacations will begin in Carmel School on May 16 and in Denobili School on May 17. The Summer vacation in Kendriya Vidyalayas will start on May 11 and end on June 20.

Earlier, the West Bengal government has announced the preponement of summer vacation for the state-run and aided schools, starting from 22 April due to the heatwave conditions. Initially, the summer vacation was scheduled to begin on 6 May, considering the elections and keeping in mind that several schools in northern parts of Bengal were serving as security force camps and polling booths.

On a similar note, Telangana’s School Education department had declared summer holidays in the state for all government schools starting on April 24, allowing students to enjoy their break.
