Jharkhand Weather: The weather in Jharkhand is set to change on Sunday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued weather warnings for various districts from September 13 to 17.
On Sunday, heavy rain, accompanied by thunderstorms, and lightning are expected in 14 districts of the state, with wind speeds reaching 60 to 65 kilometres per hour.
Heavy Rain, Storm Alert In THESE 14 Districts
According to the IMD, heavy rain and thunderstorms are likely in Bokaro, Ranchi, Ramgarh, Khunti, Chatra, Deoghar, West Singhbhum, Palamu, Dumka, Hazaribagh, Dhanbad, Giridih, Gumla, and Latehar today. Winds could blow at speeds of up to 60-65 kilometres per hour in these districts.
The maximum temperature in Ranchi on Sunday is expected to be around 28 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be 22 degrees Celsius.
However, the alert issued for 14 districts does not mean that rain will not occur in other districts. Localised thunderstorms and light to scattered rain are also possible in other districts. The intensity of rainfall is forecast to vary by district.
Along with the rain, there is also a risk of thunderstorms and lightning in many parts of the state. The Meteorological Department has advised people to stay away from open fields, trees, power poles, and high places. Farmers working in the fields and two-wheeler riders also need to exercise special caution. A yellow alert has also been issued regarding the possibility of thunderstorms and lightning.
IMD Forecast From September 13 To 18
According to the Ranchi Meteorological Centre, the weakening of the system formed in the Bay of Bengal is expected to bring relatively clear weather to Jharkhand from September 13. However, due to the persistence of moisture in the atmosphere, scattered clouds, thunderstorms, and light rain are possible over the next few days.
The weather may change more significantly on September 13-14. Meanwhile, rainfall activity is expected to be relatively low and localised between September 15 and 18. Temperatures may rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius or more during this period, leading to increased humidity. After the rain, the weather will be pleasant in these districts.
The rain, combined with lower temperatures and cloudy skies, could bring pleasant weather to some districts. Ranchi, Khunti, Ramgarh, Gumla, Latehar, and West Singhbhum are expected to experience pleasant weather after the rains. However, humidity may increase after the rains subside.
The rain is also expected to bring some relief to air quality as dust settles. Humidity may increase as temperatures rise over the next few days, but occasional local showers are expected to bring some relief.
