Jharkhand Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday stated that several districts of Jharkhand are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall till July 25. The weather department informed that the formation of a low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal will lead to the rainfall. The rainfall is likely to provide relief from scorching heat by reducing the maximum temperature by two to four degrees Celsius. Apart from rainfall, most of the districts are expected to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts, including East Singhbhum, Sahibganj, Palamu, Ranchi, Gumla, and Lohardaga, are expected to witness light to heavy rainfall for the next few days. However, it further stated that these regions are also expected to witness flood-like situations due to the continuous rainfall. While the rainfall will provide relief from the heat, it will lead to other issues like waterlogging and power outages in the key cities.
The IMD also stated that heavy rain has been recorded in many parts of Jharkhand in the last 24 hours. While providing details, the weather department stated that 140 mm of rain has been recorded in Mandar of Ranchi, 50 mm in Hazaribagh, and 30 to 40 mm of rain has been recorded in other districts.
It further stated that the continuous rainfall is likely to benefit the farmers of the state, further advising the farmers to limit the financial activities and to not hide beneath big trees and electricity poles during the rainfall.
