Jharkhand Weather Update: Intense cold wave conditions have tightened the hold over Jharkhand as strong north-westerly winds continue to sweep the state, pushing mercury several degrees below normal.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ranchi, has issued a yellow alert for cold wave conditions in 11 districts, Ranchi, Khunti, Ramgarh, Bokaro, Simdega, Gumla, Lohardaga, Chatra, Latehar, Palamu and Garhwa, valid till 8:30 am on December 7.

Abhishek Anand, Officer-in-Charge, IMD Ranchi, said isolated areas in these districts are likely to experience cold wave conditions on December 6. “There will be a sharp drop in night temperatures. People, especially children, the elderly and those with health issues, should avoid unnecessary exposure during early morning and late evening hours,” Jagran.com quoted him as saying.
Kanke Records Lowest 5.2°C
On Friday, Kanke, on the outskirts of Ranchi, recorded a bone-chilling minimum of 5.2°C, emerging as one of the coldest places in Jharkhand. Light north-westerly winds at 4–6 km/h further intensified the chill across the capital region.

Jharkhand Weather: Temperature Drop Expected In Coming Days
Meteorologists forecast a further dip of 2–3°C in minimum temperatures over the next three days, followed by a marginal rise thereafter. Dense morning and evening fog is also likely.
