J&K: In a tragic incident in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora district, four soldiers lost their lives, and two others sustained critical injuries when an Army truck skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge.

The accident occurred near the Wular Viewpoint, a popular spot in Bandipora. The vehicle, carrying military personnel, veered off the road due to unknown reasons, plunging into the gorge below.

Emergency teams and local authorities immediately responded to the situation. The injured soldiers were initially rushed to the District Hospital in Bandipora, where Dr Masarat Iqbal Wani, the Medical Superintendent, confirmed, “Five injured were brought here, out of which two were declared dead on arrival. The three critically injured soldiers have been referred to Srinagar for specialised treatment.”

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. Early reports suggest the challenging terrain and slippery conditions might have contributed to the unfortunate incident.
