J-K Encounter: The security forces on Saturday launched a high-profile search operation in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district. The operation was launched after the agencies received information about a few terrorists hiding in the Dolimal forests. As per the reports, a brief exchange of fire took place between the terrorists and security forces; however, the firing ceased after a few minutes.
The personnel from the Army and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the local police are advancing cautiously due to the geographical challenges. The joint team received intelligence that two to three terrorists were hiding in the forests of Dorimal, reported Jagran.com, citing credible sources. As per the reports, all these terrorists had infiltrated from Pakistan and entered Indian territory in the past few days.

The security forces, upon receiving information, cordoned off the area in the early hours of Saturday and began advancing into the forest. However, the terrorists opened fire against them, leading to heavy retaliation from the forces. This exchange of gunfire continued for a short while, but the firing ceased from both sides after a few minutes.
While providing details, the officials stated that there has been no firing from either side for the past few hours, adding that forces have been summoned to encircle the terrorists from all directions. "We have credible intelligence that these terrorists are heavily armed. The operation will continue until they are captured-dead or alive," one of the personnel was quoted as saying by Jagran.com.

He further stated that efforts are underway to close all escape routes for the terrorists hiding in the forest. As a precautionary measure, the local administration has advised residents in nearby villages to remain alert and stay indoors.
The forces have issued a high alert across the entire region, advising the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings.
