The National Investigating Agency (NIA), Intelligence Bureau (IB) and the military intelligence on Tuesday grilled YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, a famour travel vlogger, arrested for spying on behalf of Pakistan, the police officials said. They added that the details about her travel and financial transactions were also underway.

Hisar-based Jyoti (33) ran a YouTube channel titled 'Travel with JO'. She was arrested at the New Aggarsain Extension on May 16. Jyoti was booked under relevant sections of the Official Secrets Act and the BNS, the police added.

Police recover her diary

According to a senior police official, the central agencies are investigating her travel details in the sequence of the countries she visited. The attempt is to draw a chain of events. According to a News18 report, the police have also recovered a Bangladeshi visa form from her possession, indicating that her next destination was Bangladesh.

Moreover, the authorities have also recovered a diary from her house. "Tell Savita to bring fruits. Take case of home. I will be back soon," read the diary.

Below this, "Dawai" (medicines) was written. The probe agencies have widened the ambit of investigation to include Savita and her identity.

Incomes doesn't justify travel: Police

Earlier, the police had said that her source of income does not justify her foreign travel
which brought her financial transactions under the radar.

The forensics are also going through her laptop. On Sunday, Hisar SP Shashank Kumar Sawan said that Pakistani intelligence operatives were developing Jyoti as an “asset”.

“They were developing her (Jyoti Malhotra) as an asset. She was in touch with other YouTube influencers, and they were also in touch with the PIOs… She used to go to Pakistan, like on sponsored trips… She was in Pakistan before the Pahalgam attack, and the investigation is on to establish linkages if there are any. We are also investigating, as we have leads that other people were also involved with her," Sawan said.

What did Haryana Home Secretary say?

She was allegedly in touch with a Pakistani official posted in the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi during the four-day military conflict between India and Pakistan that followed the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, the SP said.

Haryana Home Secretary Dr Sumita Misra also reacted to her arrest saying that it was discussed in the meeting.
