K Kavitha on Wednesday resigned from the primary membership of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and Member of Legislative Council (MLC) post, a day after being suspended from the party by her father K Chandrasekhar Rao, also known as KCR. Addressing the media in Telangana's Hyderabad, Kavitha called out certain BRS leaders who she claimed had “vested interests” and “put pressure” on her father to have her expelled.

"I am resigning from BRS and submitting my MLC resignation letter to the Council Speaker," K Kavitha said, addressing the media.

"I spoke about Harish Rao and Santosh, saying that golden Telangana isn't when gold is in their houses. I previously spoke with my brother KTR about people plotting against me and asked him to take action," she said.

“I have never worked against the interests of the people of Telangana, but some leaders of the BRS who have vested interests and only think of their benefits have taken the lead role in BRS and put pressure on my father to expel me from the party...I request my father, K Chandrashekar Rao, to look into the true intentions of the leaders who are around you...They have broken the BRS family and they did this for their self-interests...The way Telangana CM Revanth Reddy colluded with traitors of the party to break the BRS family, the people of Telangana will not forgive you,” K Kavitha added, as quoted by ANI.

K Kavitha further alleged that Telangana CM Revanth Reddy and Harish Rao had "planned to destroy" KCR's family. 

"I am requesting my father to examine the party leaders surrounding him. I spoke straightforwardly and requested him to consider my words. Revanth Reddy and Harish Rao allegedly planned to destroy our family while travelling together on a flight; Revanth Reddy should answer for this,” she further remarked.

Kavitha Alleges Cousins' Role In Tarnishing Father KCR's Image

On Monday, K Kavitha accused her cousins and BRS leaders - T Harish Rao and J Santosh Kumar of "amassing assets and having a tacit understanding" with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to tarnish the image of her father KCR.

The entire row stemmed from the Kaleshwaram project, which caused an infighting within the party. K Kavitha intensified the row after attacking her cousins, Harish and Santosh. Soon after the Congress government decided to order a CBI probe into the alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project, which was built during the BRS regime, Kavitha opened a front against the duo, escalating the dispute in the party.
