- Kangana Ranaut criticised Mandi officials at DISHA meeting.
- Questioned delays in MPLADS projects, Rs 11 crore unspent.
- Demanded accountability and timely completion of pending works.
BJP MP Kangana Ranaut on Saturday criticised officials at a District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, over delays in implementing projects under the Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme. Lashing out at the officials, she questioned the utilisation of the Rs11 crore allocated by the Centre for her constituency and asked why two-year-old projects remain pending.
Kangana lashed out, saying that the time for “addressing things” is gone. The Mandi MP then accused officials of why a two-year-old work is pending. Launching a scathing attack on the system, the Mandi MP said "30 to 40 per cent" of public money goes into the wrong hands, underlining the need for stronger monitoring and accountability.

'Get Blood Job Done'
The 40-year-old BJP MP said that while enquiring the previous time, she was told that 90 per cent of the allocated fund is on the ground. However, the reality was highlighted after conducting a survey. Getting angry at the officials, Kangana instructed them to “get the job done now”. Kangana said, "Last time as well, when I enquired about MPLADS, and our DISHA committees meet so regularly, whenever I asked about MPLADS, I was told that there was absolutely no hiccup and that 90 per cent of our money was on the ground. But what turned out to be the reality? The reality came to light only when external agencies conducted detailed surveys on this... What I am trying to say is that I don't need your assurances to 'address' it—get the bloody job done now!”
“Those are one-and-a-half- to two-year-old matters. Now get the job done and report to me that this is done! Kangana allocated ₹11 crore, yet not a single piece of work was carried out,” she added.

'Lazy, Incompetent People'
The Lok Sabha MP then questioned the work ethics of the “incompetent” officials, asking them what she would say to the media and the people of her state. “It is so incompetent, so wretched... What am I supposed to say before the media out there? That people come here only to draw their salaries? What am I supposed to say about the people of our state? What am I to say about their work ethic? That they are utterly lazy, utterly incompetent people occupying these chairs? Is that what I should say to the national media? About my own constituency? And about my own mountain people?"Kangana added.
The MP from Himachal Pradesh then directed officials to keep a close watch on the quality of development works, the progress of schemes, and the utilisation of government funds, while ensuring that projects are completed within stipulated timelines.
