Karnataka News: As many as 10 people fell ill during an event of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Dakshin Karnataka due to dehydration. The incident reportedly took place during “Ashoka Jana Mana 2025" programme. The Chief Minister was expected to reach the venue at 12 noon but he arrived an hour later and event concluded at 3 pm.

According to the police, people fell ill due to dehydration following delay in food serving, Deccan Herald reported.

“Hypoglycemia or dehydration was caused due to the delay in providing food and gifts. Three women were given IV fluids, and seven women have already been discharged after receiving outpatient treatment," Dakshina Kannada district police said.

In another news, Karnataka has extended caste survey till October 31. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Sunday said that the government has decided to extend the Social and Educational Survey -widely referred to as the 'caste census'- till October 31.

The survey, being conducted by the Karnataka State Commission for Backward Classes, began on September 22, and was originally scheduled to end on October 7.
