Kerala Elephant Attack:  A 72-year-old farmer from Kalady in Kerala's Ernakulam district was crushed to death on Thursday by a wild elephant in Madabur NR Pura taluk, Chikkamagaluru district, Karnataka. While looking for a missing buffalo, the deceased KK Aliayaz and his son came across the elephant.

The son was able to get to safety by climbing a tree, but Aliayaz was unable to avoid the elephant's attack. After the incident, local police and Forest Department representatives showed up in the area.

This is the second death in the district in the last 20 days that has been connected to elephant assaults. Umesh, a resident of Seethur in the taluk of NR Pura, had previously died in a similar attack.

Following these tragic incidents, locals have protested and called on the Karnataka government to catch and evacuate the wild elephants that are still roaming the area.

A few days ago, locals protested in the village of Kuttampuzha in Kochi over the death of a man who was attacked by a wild elephant.
