Karnataka: A shocking incident has come to light where a 22-year-old man from Karnataka allegedly stole gold and cash from his relative’s house to fund his wedding expenses. According to the police, the stolen valuables were meant to fund his wedding expenses, as he was planning to marry his long-time girlfriend in the near future.

Following the incident, a case was registered and police launched an investigation. The man was arrested on the basis of complaint by the homeowner, NDTV reported.

How A Wedding Dream Pushed Man To Commit A Crime?

The man identified as Sheryas was in a relationship with a woman for the past four years and was eager to marry her. Believing that he needed money to arrange their marriage, he allegedly came up with a plan to rob his relative Harish, who also owned a shop where Shreyas was employed.

He knew that cash and jewellery were kept at Harish’s house to which he decided to steal them for wedding expenses. On September 15, he allegedly broke into the house and stole gold and cash worth lakhs.

The Hebbagodi police launched an investigation and arrested Shreyas on the basis of the homeowner’s complaint. During the investigation, police recovered 16 grams of gold and Rs 3.46 lakh in cash, with the total value estimated at around Rs 47 lakh.

A case has been registered at the local police station in connection with the case. Shreyas has been arrested and further investigation is underway.
