Karnataka Crime: In a horrible incident, a Karnataka man allegedly set his wife ablaze in Belagavi district after a argument over choice of clothes. The officials, while providing details, stated that the 34-year-old accused set his wife ablaze at their resident after objecting to her wearing a nightdress rather than a sari. They further stated that the couple argued on the issue very frequently and the matter escalated on Tuesday, leading to the incident. The officials assured that a detailed probe has been launched to unearth further details.
Krishna Patil, the accused, objected to his 32-year-old wife Manjula Patil wearing a nightdress and directed her to wear a saree. However, the issue escalated when the victim denied to change her clothes. The officials stated that Patil allegedly doused the victim in kerosene and set her on fire, leading to severe injuries.
The officials further stated that the victim sustained around 80 per cent burn injuries and was immediately admitted to the Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences (BIMS). However, she was later referred to a Goa hospital considering the scale of injuries. The police also stated that a case has been registered at Nandgad Police Station and the accused has been arrested.
In a separate incident, a man was tied up by her girlfriend and was set ablaze using kerosene in Karnataka's Bengaluru. The incident that shocked the city took place under the Byadarahalli police station limits. The investigators have termed it a premeditated murder as the accused suspected that the victim was distancing himself from her.

The investigation so far has revealed that the girl tied him up under the pretext of a "western-style proposal." The police have identified the victim as Kiran and the accused as Prema. The police said that both were in a relationship and worked at a mobile store in Rajajinagar.
