Karnataka Politics: Amid an ongoing power tussle in Karnataka, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his deputy, DK Shivakumar, met over breakfast for the second time in the space of four days. While the details of their conversation were not disclosed, the menu of breakfast at Shivakumar's residence caught everyone's attention. Siddaramaiah, while talking about the menu, stated that the deputy chief minister had arranged the non-vegetarian food for him. Earlier on Saturday, both the leaders debunked the rift reports, further asserting that they will obey the decision of the Congress' top brass.

While talking to the reporters, Siddaramaiah stated that he had asked Shivakumar to get chicken from the village, adding that the dishes on both occasions were prepared as per the preferences of the visiting leader. "At his house, it was non-vegetarian, while at my house, it was vegetarian. He is a vegetarian, I am a non-vegetarian. I had not prepared non-veg. I told DK (Shivakumar) to get chicken from the village as you won't get the original in Bengaluru," Siddaramaiah was quoted as saying by PTI.

"It was a vegetarian breakfast at the chief minister's house on Saturday," Shivakumar stated. "Today, I invited him to my house. He enjoyed the breakfast, which had his Mysuru taste," the deputy chief minister added.

Congress Top Brass Finalises The Formula

The Congress top leadership has decided that Siddaramaiah will continue to be the chief minister; however, Shivakumar's tenure as the state party chief has also been extended, reported NDTV. The top brass has decided that the 2028 state assembly election will be contested under Shivakuma's leadership. Apart from this, some of Shivakumar's loyalists are also likely to get key portfolios during the cabinet expansion.
