The Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) forecasted widespread, moderate to heavy rains across the state until July 12, with some isolated areas expecting very heavy rainfall. The meteorological department issued an "orange alert" for Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Chikkamagaluru and Shivamogga districts and a "yellow alert" for Belagavi, Dharwad and Kodagu districts, warning of heavy rains.
The Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural districts will also experience light to moderate rain, with winds at speeds of 30-40 kmph, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
On Thursday, Bengaluru Urban experienced a maximum temperature of 28.6 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 21.4 degrees Celsius, with no significant weather conditions reported and no recorded rainfall. In contrast, Bengaluru Rural saw a maximum temperature of 29.0 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 21.5 degrees Celsius, accompanied by drizzles, with a trace amount of rainfall recorded, IMD noted.

C S Patil, director of the India Meteorological Centre in Bengaluru, reported that coastal and western ghat regions have received significant rainfall in July, notably Agumbe, which recorded 34 mm of rain on July 3.
The Malenadu district, which had been receiving less rainfall than usual for this time of year, has now reached its expected precipitation levels. Uttara Kannada is also experiencing heavy rains, causing the Aghanashini river to flow at full capacity.
