The IMD has stated that coastal and nearby areas of Karnataka may experience scattered moderate to heavy rain, along with thundershowers. In the interior districts, similar rain conditions are likely to persist. Gusty winds with speeds between 30–40 kmph are expected during this period, which may lead to minor power outages and the falling of weak tree branches. These weather conditions are expected to last for the next three to four days.

The return of rainfall activity marks the revival of the southwest monsoon, which had remained weak in Karnataka for nearly two weeks. The IMD has issued a seven-day alert, forecasting widespread rainfall across most parts of the state until June 18.
