Karnataka Weather: As per, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) a new cyclonic circulation has developed over the Equatorial Indian Ocean and the southeast Bay of Bengal, which is expected to intensify, leading to the formation of a low-pressure area over the central parts of the south Bay of Bengal. In this regard, the weather body has warned of heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning in various areas, continuing until December 21. Bengaluru is likely to see thunderstorms till December 10 with dynamic conditions. Temperatures during this time are likely to hover between 19°C and 27°C.
Weather enthusiast Vijay, who closely monitors weather patterns, has pointed out that a new pulse of activity is visible in the southwest Bay of Bengal (SW BOB). He predicts that this system will gradually move northwest towards Sri Lanka. Dense rainbands have already started to form, but weather models are still uncertain about the exact path. At present, it looks like the system will likely move toward northern Sri Lanka and southern Tamil Nadu by December 11.
IMD senior scientist C S Patil confirmed that this low-pressure system is likely to shift towards the southwest Bay of Bengal near the Sri Lanka-Tamil Nadu coast by December 12. This movement could lead to isolated heavy rainfall in coastal Tamil Nadu on December 11 and 12, and in parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema on December 12.
With the return of rain, Bengaluru residents should prepare for a wet and chilly week ahead. Rain is expected to continue for the next few days, so it's time to bring out the umbrellas and raincoats. Whether it's foggy mornings or evening downpours, the city will experience a mix of cool and cozy weather throughout the week.
