Karnataka Weather: The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for 19 districts, including Bengaluru, warning of heavy rainfall over the next three days. The districts are Tumakuru, Kolar, Kodagu, Hassan, Chitradurga, Chikkaballapur, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru Urban, Yadgir, Vijayapura, Raichur, Koppal, Kalaburagi, Gadag, Bidar, Belagavi, Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, and Udupi.

The Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) shared a weather report on X (formerly Twitter) for seven days and wrote, "Scattered to widespread moderate rain and isolated heavy rain with thundershowers and strong winds are likely to occur in the north interior districts of the state till September 18. Rainfall activity is likely to decrease in the remaining days."

According to the weather department, humidity levels are likely to remain around 91 percent, leaving the air damp, particularly after rainfall. Heavy rains could also cause temporary power outages and traffic disruptions at several junctions. On Monday, continuous downpours cut off access to several villages after a bridge near Hutti Gold Mines in Lingsugur taluk, Raichur district, was submerged.

Flash floods swept away a bridge on the Bidar-Chamarajanagar National Highway (150A) near Sindhanur, while a lightning strike damaged a house in Ward 5 of Lingsugur. Overnight rain also partially damaged more than 16 houses in Hutti Gold Mines and villages across Gurugunta hobli.

Bengaluru Weather 

The city is likely to witness cloudy skies with moderate rain today. On Monday, HAL recorded a maximum of 28.9 Degree Celsius and a minimum of 20.0 Degree Celsius, while Bengaluru City saw 28.4 Degree Celsius and 20.5 Degree Celsius. At KIAL, the maximum touched 30.0 Degree Celsius, and GKVK reported 28.6 Degree Celsius and 18.0 Degree Celsius.

Humidity levels are expected to remain around 87 percent, leaving the air damp, especially after rainfall. Showers may cause temporary power disruptions, minor traffic snarls, and the uprooting of weak tree branches. The weather department has advised residents to stay indoors and keep windows and doors closed.
