Farooq Abdullah, convenor of the National Conference, expressed his grief on the recent incidents of terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir and urged Pakistan to stop the acts of terrorism and focus on its development as the union territory will "never be the part of Pakistan."

While addressing the reporters, Abdullah referred to the attack near Gulmarg, where two soldiers and two Army porters lost their lives. He further said that he has been witnessing such incidents for the last 30 years and stated that these attacks will continue until a solution to this problem is found.

"Such attacks will continue to take place in this state. You know where they come from, and it will not stop until some way is found to get out of this trouble. I have been witnessing it for the last 30 years; innocent people are getting killed, and we will never become a part of Pakistan. So why are they doing this? Is it to ruin our future?” questioned Abdullah.

He further pointed out that Pakistan's condition is not well, and it should work to improve the lifestyle of its citizens. “Khud barbaad ho rahe hain aur hume bhi saath barbaad kar rahe hain (Pakistan is destroying itself and dragging us down as well.) I urge them to stop this terrorism and seek a path of friendship. If they don't do this, it will be very difficult for them,” he added.

20 lives have been lost in the last two weeks, which included civilians, non-residents, a doctor, and Army porters. In the latest incident, two soldiers and two Indian Army porters were killed on the evening of October 24 in Gulmarg. Officials said that terrorists opened fire on two army trucks at Botapathri.

Abdullah was even asked about the chances of Pakistan's recent attacks because of the elections in the union territory. He stated that he was unsure about the reason and emphasised that the newly elected government is dedicated to working for people.

"People voted in the assembly polls, and now the assembly will work for the people. We hope the Center grants full statehood so that the government is able to work for the people," he said.
