Kerala Acid Attack: In a horrific incident, a man attacked his daughter and her cousin with acid, leaving them injured over a marital dispute with the wife in Kerala's Kasaragod. Police on Saturday said the two minor girls suffered burn injuries after acid attack on them in Panathadi village of this northern Kerala district. The accused fled the scene after attacking the girls.
A case against the accused, identified as Manoj KC (48), a native of Karike in Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka, was filed with the Rajapuram police station, launching a manhunt to nab him.

The incident took place in Parakadavu in Panathadi village on Friday at around 10.30 am. According to the police, Manoj arrived at the house of his wife's brother. His 17-year-old daughter and her 10-year-old cousin were playing in the courtyard when he allegedly opened a bottle of acid used for processing rubber sheets and poured it on them before fleeing from the place.
Troubled Marital Life Caused Attack On Girls?
He and his wife were reportedly going through a troubled marital life. Following frequent quarrels with Manoj, she had left their house and was staying with her brother in Panathadi.
Police have registered a case under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 329(3) (criminal trespass), 124(1) (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by use of acid), 109(1) (attempt to murder), and 351(2) (criminal intimidation). The cops said they have launched a manhunt to trace Manoj in Kerala and Karnataka. The assistance of Karnataka police would be sought if required, police added.
