Kerala Weather Update: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow for heavy rain in 12 Kerala districts except Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam for June 26, Thursday. As per the weather body, there is a possibility of strong winds with a speed of 40 to 50 kilometres per hour in isolated places in the state.

The weather body has also issued a yellow warning for eight districts on Wednesday in view of heavy showers in isolated places. The alert has been issued for - Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod.

Karnataka Weather

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain in six Karnataka districts. An alert has also been issued for Belgaum, Dharwad, Kodagu, Shivamogga and Chikkamagaluru districts. The wind speed in these regions is expected to be between 30-40 kmph. According to the weather body, rain activity will continue for the next three days. Showers are also expected to lash the capital, Bengaluru, Kolar, Tumkur, Bellary, Davangere, Haveri, Gadag, Koppal, Dharwad, Vijayapura, Mysore, and Mandya districts.

Holidays have also been declared for schools and colleges in multiple areas including Belgaum and Khanapura taluks in view of the heavy rain alert.
