The construction of Phase 2 on the Kharkhoda-Delhi road, which has been a cause of trouble for a long time, is expected to begin soon. The Public Works Department has called for tenders to implement the scheme and has sought applications from companies. Soon, the tender will be issued, and the remaining part of this road will also be constructed, while the Public Works Department has already started the construction from the KMP expressway to the gate of IMT.

State Highway-18, which is the Kharkhoda-Delhi road, has been in bad condition for a long time. The road has been in compromised condition for years while being the lifeline of the entire IMT. But due to this road being in bad condition for four years, it has become the biggest problem for the drivers.

Not only has the number of vehicles plying on the KMP Expressway increased in the last few years on the Kharkhoda-Delhi route, but vehicles plying on the Meerut-Loharu National Highway 334B also enter Delhi via Kharkhoda. Due to this, thousands of vehicles ply on the Delhi route every day. But due to the poor condition of the road, there is a traffic jam on the route for hours.

Compromised Condition Of Road Doubles The Struggle During Monsoon

While on normal days, the road breaks due to water accumulation inside Pipli village, it becomes a bigger problem during rainy days. Drivers have been facing this problem for years. Many times, the Public Works Department also got this part repaired, but it did not work out; this road broke down again in a few days.

Now the second phase will also be constructed. The Public Works Department has started the work of Phase-1 from Gate No. 1 of IMT Kharkhoda to KMP Expressway at a cost of Rs. 6 crore 85 lakhs. At the same time, tenders have also been called for the part from KMP towards Kharkhoda city. About six crore rupees will be spent on this scheme.

The construction of this road will bring relief to thousands of drivers and people who use the route daily. With the completion of Phase 2, the road's condition will improve significantly, reducing traffic jams and making commuting easier
