Khesari Lal Yadav Election Result 2025: Bhojpuri star and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate, Khesari Lal Yadav, whose real name is Shatrughan Yadav, is making his electoral debut from the Chapra seat on an RJD ticket. According to the Election Commission’s trends for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, Yadav is currently trailing behind the BJP candidate, Chhoti Kumari, by a margin of approximately 1,691 votes.
Yadav, the RJD candidate from Chapra, formally joined the party along with his wife, Chanda Devi, in October 2025. The Bihar Assembly Elections for 243 seats were conducted in two phases on November 6 and November 11. The vote counting began at 8:00 AM on Friday, November 14.

Who Is Khesari Lal Yadav?
Khesari Lal Yadav was born on March 15, 1986 in Chapra to Mangru Yadav. He hails from a humble background. His father, Mangru Yadav, previously worked as both a street vendor and a security guard. During his childhood, he was involved in selling milk in his village and grazing cattle. Later, when his family shifted to the national capital, they sold the regional delicacy 'litti-chokha' to make a living, MoneyControl reported.

According to a report by Mint, the RJD’s star candidate is a 10th pass. When his family shifted to the national capital, Yadav along with his six siblings remained in their hometown under the care of their uncle. He attended a government school. He reportedly left his studies early to begin working and provide financial support to his family.
Khesai Lal Yadav - A Bhojpuri Star
Khesari’s artistic journey began in the 1990s when he became a part of a local Bhojpuri theatre. His popularity soared as he transitioned to a musical career in the late 2000s. He made his acting debut in 2011 with the film which proved to be a major success and established his name in the Sajan Chale Sasural which proved to be a major success and established his name in the Bhojpuri cinema. Since then, he has featured in more than 70 films, including a Bollywood project, and lent his voice to over 5,000 songs across multiple languages.
Khesari lal Yadav’s Entry Into Politics
Khesari formally marked his entry into politics on October 16, 2025 when he joined the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) with his wife, Chanda Devi, who is a homemaker. Their induction was announced by Tejashwi Yadav, who is the leader and the chief ministerial face of the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.
His Assets
As per Khesari Lal's official election affidavit filed for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, he and his wife, Chanda Devi, possess significant assets amounting to approximately Rs 32.2 crore. He owns movable assets worth Rs 16.89 crore as well as Rs 7.91 crore in immovable properties. His wife has movable assets of Rs 90.02 lakh and immovable assets worth Rs 6.49 crore.
