Kochi Metro Update: In response to the steady surge in ridership and growing passenger demand, the Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) on Friday announced that it will extend its daily train services until 11 PM. The new timing, scheduled to come into effect from February 15, is aimed at providing a safer and more reliable travel option for late-night commuters. Currently, the last metro train departs at 10:30 PM.
Kochi Metro Extends Last Train Timings: Check Revised Schedule
Starting February 15, 2026, the last metro service from both the Aluva and Tripunithura Terminal stations will depart at 11 PM instead of 10:30 PM.
"Accordingly, the last revenue service from both terminal stations — Aluva Metro Station and Tripunithura Terminal Metro Station — will depart at 11 pm (23:00 hrs) with effect from February 15, 2026," the KMRL said in a release.
Additionally, starting February 16, services from Aluva Metro Station will begin early at 4 AM. These early morning services will run every 30 minutes until 6 AM, after which the metro will run as per the regular schedule, India Today reported.
KMRL Announces Special Services For Shivratri
- To ensure the convenience of devotees travelling to Aluva Mahadeva Temple for Shivratri festival, the Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) has also announced to operate special services on Sunday, February 15.
- Accordingly, the last metro train service from Tripunithura Terminal will depart at 11:30 PM on February 15.
"On February 15, 2026 (Sunday—Shivaratri), the last revenue service from Tripunithura Terminal will depart at 11.30 pm (23:30 hrs)," the KMRL added.
