The Kolkata Traffic Police have released a detailed traffic advisory ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Gujarat Titans (GT), set to take place on Monday, April 21, at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The match will begin at 7:30 pm, and to facilitate smooth traffic flow and ensure public safety, special traffic arrangements, diversions and parking restrictions will be enforced from 4:00pm to 1:00 am.

Traffic Restriction and Diversion
The movement of all types of goods vehicles will be restricted, suspended, or diverted in and around Eden Gardens and the Maidan area. Specific traffic restrictions will also be in effect around the Victoria Memorial, affecting parts of AJC Bose Road (from DL Khan Road to Cathedral Road), Hospital Road, Queensway, Cathedral Road, Casuarina Avenue, and Lovers Lane.
Road Will Remain Close
Additionally, Kshudiram Bose Road (Auckland Road), North Brooke Avenue, and Gostha Pal Sarani (Kingsway) will remain closed to all vehicular traffic. Vehicles heading toward the High Court may be diverted via Esplanade Row West instead of Auckland Road and North Brooke Avenue, depending on real-time traffic assessments by the police.
List of No Parking Zones
Parking will be strictly prohibited on both sides of several key roads during the restricted hours, with enforcement carried out by on-duty traffic police. These roads include Gostha Pal Sarani (Kingsway), Kshudiram Bose Road (Auckland Road), Govt. Place East, Rani Rashmoni Avenue, Old Court House Street, Indira Gandhi Sarani (Red Road), Guru Nanak Sarani (Mayo Road), and Dufferin Road.
Traffic diversions will also be in effect during this period. Buses and minibuses coming from South Kolkata and heading toward BBD Bag may be rerouted either via Rani Rashmoni Avenue, Netaji Statue, Govt. Place East, and Old Court House Street, or through J.L. Nehru Road, Bentinck Street, Mission Row, and Mangoe Lane, depending on traffic conditions and volume.
Vehicles coming from North and East Kolkata will be diverted via alternate routes such as Central Avenue, Ganesh Chandra Avenue, Mangoe Lane, S.N. Banerjee Road, R.R. Avenue, and Esplanade Row East, depending on real-time traffic conditions. Motorists from South Kolkata can reach the BBD Bag area by using AJC Bose Road, St. Georges Gate Road, and Strand Road, continuing through Kiran Sankar Roy Road.

Vehicles from North and East Kolkata may access BBD Bag through B.B. Ganguly Street, S.N. Banerjee Road, and other designated routes. Additionally, Howrah-bound buses and minibuses from South and South-West Kolkata, traveling via D.H. Road, Khidderpore Bridge, Belvedere Road, or J.L. Nehru Road, will be rerouted as needed through St. Georges Gate Road, the AJC Bose Road Ramp, Dufferin Road, and Strand Road.
Notice
No Parking will be allowed for taxis, private buses and other vehicles in and around Eden Gardens on match day. Additionally, the Band Stand and Auckland Road bus stand will be temporarily relocated to Kiran Shakar Roy Road, Esplanade Row East and the Central Bus Terminus. Traffic on key arterial and feeder roads may be diverted by the police if necessary, depending on real-time traffic flow and public safety considerations.
