Kolkata Weather: The city of joy is under a 'yellow' alert for thunderstorms and lightning on Monday amid intense humidity. Kolkata will be experiencing generally cloudy weather with a few spells of rain, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

As the daytime high is likely to reach 31 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature will remain 26 degrees Celsius. The city recorded 3 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours with a relative humidity between 85 to 90 per cent.

Kolkata Weekly Weather Forecast

The residents of Kolkata might get some relief as the city is expected to witness week-long rainfall and lower temperatures. There will be generally cloudy sky with a few spells of rain or thundershowers from July 23 to July 25.

It is anticipated that the highest temperature will be between 31 and 32 degrees Celsius, while the lowest temperature will probably be between 26 and 27 degrees Celsius. After that, on July 26 and 27, the city is expected to see mostly overcast skies with a chance of showers or thunderstorms. The minimum temperature is anticipated to fluctuate between 27 and 28 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature will most likely swing between 32 and 33 degrees Celsius.

Yellow Alert In Bengal

Several places are under a yellow alert for thunderstorms and lightning, according to the most recent data available on the IMD website. A yellow alert has been issued for the following areas: Howrah, Kolkata, Purba Medinipur, South 24 Parganas, Birbhum, Bankura, Purulia, Jhargram, Paschim Medinipur, Murshidabad, and a few others.
