A horrific accident occurred in Kota, Rajasthan, this morning (Saturday, November 1), in which two schoolgirls died and more than a dozen other children were injured. The school van carrying the children suddenly collided with an SUV. Screams erupted inside the van following the crash.

The accident took place in the Etawah police station area of Kota. According to eyewitnesses, the cause of the accident was a tire blowout on the van. Near the 132 KV grid station, the van's tire suddenly burst. Furthermore, the van was reportedly traveling in the wrong direction, which led to the collision with the oncoming SUV.

The collision was so severe that it claimed the lives of two schoolgirls and left more than a dozen children with serious injuries. The SUV reportedly overturned on the road and was thrown about 20 feet away. The front portion of the van was completely damaged.

Following the crash, children's school bags and books were scattered across the road. Local residents, upon hearing the children's screams, rushed to the scene. Some of them broke the van's windows to rescue the children. Police also arrived at the spot soon after being informed and began rescue operations.

The injured have been admitted to MBS Hospital in Kota. The van involved in the accident belonged to a private school in Etawah. According to police, "The driver lost control due to the tire burst, leading to this horrific accident."

According to Etawah DSP Shivam Joshi, 10-12 children were traveling in the school van. The deceased have been identified as 15-year-old TanuDhakad and 8-year-old Parul Arya. Five of the injured children are in critical condition and have been admitted to the New Medical College Hospital in Kota.

Police have seized both vehicles. The parents of the children are distraught and grieving following the accident. Police are conducting a full investigation into the matter. The incident has also raised serious questions about road safety and the poor maintenance of vehicles used by schools.
