Kargil Road Mishap: In the Kargil district of UT Ladakh, a terrible accident near the Shilikchay bypass on Tuesday night killed five people and critically wounded two others. According to officials, the accident happened when a tipper and a Scorpio driving from Kargil to Drass collided close to the Shilikchay Traffic Control Point (TCP). Five people tragically died as a result of the collision's impact, which sent both vehicles plunging into a deep gorge.
Officials named the deceased as Muhammad Hassan, son of Muhammd Hussain of Stakpa; Liyaqat Ali, son of AK Raza of Choskore; and Muhammad Ibrahim, son of Haji Muhammad of Badgam. The remaining two fatalities, who are thought to be non-locals, are yet to be identified.
They stated emergency personnel swiftly rushed to the area and sent the victims to the district hospital Drass. According to reports, the victims are in critical condition.

Deep sorrow over the incident was conveyed by Dr Muhammad Jaffer Akhoon, Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor (CEC) of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil.
He has instructed the district administration to ensure that every possible effort is made for the treatment of the injured in the hospital. Additionally, he has offered condolences to the families, urging them to find strength during this difficult time.
In another incident, a sense of shock gripped Srinagar's Mahjoornagar area on Tuesday morning when a 22-year-old man was found dead on the roadside. Locals alerted the police, who quickly took him to the hospital, where he was declared dead by doctors. The deceased has been identified as Naeem Ahmad, son of Mohammad Aslam, a resident of Mahjoor Nagar, Srinagar.
