Amid growing speculations of the reason behind the reason of Zymrat co-founder Asthana Ujjawal relocating to Pune from Bengaluru, Asthana, who called Bengaluru home for over a decade, clarified that he was not leaving the capital city of Karnataka because of any problem he faced there, but his decision was for business requirements.
Ujjawal, in his note, thanked the people of Bengaluru and emphasised that the city helped him grow in life. “I am leaving Bengaluru for Pune," Ujjawal wrote on X. He further wrote that the city gave him all the best things in his life—first job, first foreign trip, a life partner, 2 successful businesses, funding, startup acquisition, great friends, a network worth in gold, and much more.

He also stated that though he was not a local, he never felt like an outsider in the city. "I am not a local but there wasn't a day when I felt like an outsider - and if you are thinking thats because I live in a bubble of high rise and car - thats not the case. I have also lived the BMTC, Auto, Cab life in the city for longest time," he wrote.

"Bangalore is not a city, it is a beautiful experience that is hard to explain in words. You experience it once you live with the people here and walk in the lanes of Jayanagar. People who call Bangalore "meh", need to live beyond the weather, coffee, beer and startups," he added.
In his note, Asthana also wrote that he was excited for his "new home," Pune, and also stated that his firm is hiring the candidates for different roles. "And while I am going to make Pune my new home, and I can't wait to start my journey there, I will keep walking in the lanes of Bangalore—the city I have called home since I became an adult—on each trip," Asthana wrote.
Many of the netizens reacted to the post from Asthana by sharing their personal experience of living in both of the cities. Most of them pointed out that Pune was a smaller version of Bengaluru and has great weather. "Pune is a great choice. A place to build your company silently," one of the users wrote. "Pune is one of the best cities in India—I miss it every day. If I ever come back to India, I’ll live without a doubt in Pune," another user commented.
