Ludhiana Election Result 2025: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Sanjeev Arora on Monday registered victory in the Ludhiana West Assembly constituency with a margin of 10, 637 votes after 14 rounds of counting. He bagged 35,179 votes, while Congress's Bharat Bhushan Ashu has gathered 24,542 votes and is closely followed by Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Jiwan Gupta with 20,323 votes as counting in the high-stakes assembly by-elections came to an end.ludhiana

The Ludhiana (West) Assembly seat fell vacant in January after the death of AAP MLA Gurpreet Bassi. AAP has fielded Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora from the seat, the Congress has fielded former state minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu, and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has fielded Parupkar Singh Ghumman while BJP has put forth Jiwan Gupta.

According to a release from the Election Commission, bypolls were held at the ACs of 24-Kadi (SC) and 87-Visavadar in Gujarat, 35-Nilambur in Kerala, 64-Ludhiana West in Punjab and 80-Kaliganj in West Bengal. During these by-elections, polling was held at 1354 Polling Stations (PS) in the five ACs. The polling began at 7 am on June 19 at the Nilambur seat in Kerala, the Ludhiana West seat in Punjab, the Kaliganj seat in West Bengal, and the Visavadar and Kadi seats in Gujarat.

Nilambur Assembly segment in Kerala recorded the highest polling percentage of 73.26 per cent; the lowest was recorded in Ludhiana West (51.33 per cent) in Punjab. Kadi saw a voter turnout of 54.49 per cent, Visavadar (54.61 per cent), and Kaliganj (69.89 per cent).
