A Lufthansa flight en route to Thailand’s capital Bangkok from Munich was diverted to Delhi on Wednesday due to unruly passenger behaviour. The decision to divert flight to Delhi Airport was taken after the cabin reported a dispute between a husband and wife.

"The reason for the fight between husband and wife is not known yet but the flight had to be diverted due to the fight between husband and wife," aviation security of Delhi airport said, as reported by news agency ANI.

The Lufthansa flight (LH772) initially sought permission to land at Pakistan’s airport, but the request was denied for undisclosed reasons. Following this the flight landed at Delhi Airport, where the male passenger was offloaded and handed over to airport security for “disruptive conduct”, which was reported by cabin crew.

A statement from Lufthansa Air is awaited.
