Madhya Pradesh: In a shocking incident, a 30-year-old tribal woman was allegedly gang-raped on the night of June 18 at a farm in Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain district. The incident occurred in front of her 12-year-old son.
The accused initially entered the premises to commit theft before escalating the crime into sexual assault, NDTV reported.
What Happened At Ujjain Farm?
According to the victim's complaint, five men arrived at a farm in the Badnagar police station area of Ujjain around midnight while the woman, her husband and their son were sleeping in a makeshift hut where they worked as guards.
The accused woke the family, dragged the husband outside at gunpoint and assaulted him. While some of the men began stealing wires from a nearby windmill, others targeted the woman.
The attackers took the woman and her son to nearby bushes, where one of the men allegedly raped her at gunpoint in front of the child. Subsequently, two or three accomplices also assaulted her while threatening the boy at gunpoint and forcing him to remain silent.
Following the victim's complaint, authorities have registered a case and initiated an intensive search for the perpetrators. The station-in-charge told NDTV that an FIR has been lodged against an unidentified accused for rape. However, the victim and her son alleged that the incident was a gang-rape involving two to three men.
An investigation is currently underway to identify and arrest all individuals involved.
According to the police, work is currently underway to install a windmill near the farm where the incident occurred. The accused stole electrical wires from five poles. Authorities have registered a case of theft.
