Who Was Madvi Hidma?
Hidma was born in Sukma district in 1981. After leading a People's Liberation Army guerrilla battalion, he became a member of the CPI-Maoist's Central Committee. Hidma was the only member of this committee from the Bastar region. His name first came to light after the Jhiram Valley attack. Following this, Hidma carried out numerous maoist attacks, and for decades, his name resonated throughout the region.
Hidma was the commander of the country's only maoist battalion, No. 1. This battalion is known for carrying out the largest and most organized attacks across the country. Recently, the organisation appointed Hidma a member of the Central Committee and put him in charge of Battalion No. 1. He has now been replaced by Barse Deva, a resident of his village, as the new battalion commander.
