Mahakal Temple Fire News: The Madhya Pradesh Government ordered a magisterial inquiry to probe the reason behind the fire incident which took place in the Garbha Griha of the Ujjain's Mahakal temple on Monday, said the District Collector Neeraj Kumar Singh. Earlier on Monday, 13 people including the priests sustained burn injuries after a fire broke out in the Mahakal temple in Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh.
Here are the top updates on the incident -
1. The investigating agencies of states have taken samples of the materials used during the puja. The 'gulal' which was used during the 'Bhasma Aarati' was also sampled for further probe.
2. District Magistrate of Ujjain said: "A magisterial inquiry has been ordered regarding the incident that happened today in Mahakal temple. Why did this incident happen and how did it happen, a committee investigation will be conducted on all these points. We will look into how many people can be allowed in the Garba Griha, fire management and other aspects. This incident is a warning for us, we will take learnings from it. Samples of the materials used during the 'puja' and the 'gulal' have been taken."
3. Earlier in the evening, 8 people out of 13 were shifted to Aurobindo Hospital in Indore for better treatment. All the injured persons are out of danger and complete arrangements have been made for their treatment here, the collector had said.
4. Following the incident, state Chief Minister Mohan Yadav reached the hospital to meet the victims who are undergoing treatment at Aurobindo Hospital in Indore.
5. Prime Minister Modi on Monday expressed grief over the fire at Ujjain's Mahakal temple during Holi celebrations, as he termed the incident 'painful' and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
6. President Murmu also expressed pain over the injuries to people in the fire incident at Ujjain's Mahakal temple on Monday and wished speedy recovery to the injured.
