Maharashtra Assembly Elections: As the Maharashtra Assembly elections concluded, Maharashtra's urban pockets, including assembly constituencies in Mumbai, reported low voter turnout, despite the fact that Mumbai is the state's largest metropolis and the country's financial and entertainment powerhouse. The turnout this time is only 1 per cent more than in 2019, when it was 48.4 per cent, compared to 49.07 per cent this year.

This year, barely a few persons were visible at numerous booths throughout Mumbai's constituencies. The Election Commission has struggled with urban voter indifference despite periodic initiatives to encourage people to turn out in big numbers to vote.

Mumbai city district and Mumbai suburban district had turnout rates of 49.07 per cent and 51.76 per cent, respectively. These figures are lower than the previous assembly election when turnout exceeded 60%.
Maharashtra recorded a voter turnout of 45.5% until 3 pm. and 58.22% by 5 pm. The state had a substantially higher 61.4 per cent turnout in the recent Maharashtra assembly election in 2019.
