Mahashivratri Bank Holiday: Banks in several cities will observe holiday this week due to Mahashivratri and regional holidays. The closures will not be consecutive, affecting banking operations on specific days.
According to a Zee News report, on February 26, 2025, banks will be closed in several states, including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Jammu-Srinagar, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh, in celebration of Mahashivratri. Additionally, banks in Gangtok will shut down on February 28 for the Losar festival.

February Bank Holidays
In total, banks across the country will be closed for 14 days in February 2025, factoring in local holidays and weekends. Despite the closures, banking services will continue online, with mobile and internet banking remaining operational.

It’s important to note that closures will not occur simultaneously across all states, as some holidays are observed regionally. For instance, while banks will close for Loosong/Namsoong in Aizawl and Gangtok, other states will remain open.
