Jagran Correspondent, Jharkhand: Train services on the Malda-Sahibganj railway section remain disrupted on Saturday following a landslide between Tildanga and New Farakka stations amid heavy rainfall. The affected section falls in the Murshidabad district of West Bengal and is part of the Howrah-New Jalpaiguri route.

The Eastern Railroad Malda division's up-line track between Tildanga and New Farakka collapsed Thursday due to heavy rain. Since then trains have been disrupted for 56 hours.

The damaged section has not yet been fully restored, although railway officials expect the track to be repaired by tonight, subject to safety inspections.

Eastern Railway has cancelled several trains and diverted others through alternative routes to manage the disruption.

Track Restoration Expected by Tonight

Restoration work is underway on the affected section. Railway officials expect the track to be repaired by tonight, after which services may gradually return to normal following the necessary safety checks.

Passengers travelling through the affected section are advised to check the latest train status before departure, as further changes may be announced depending on the restoration work.
