Manipur Traffic Advisory On September 13: The Manipur Traffic Police on September 11 issued a traffic advisory warning of possible traffic restrictions and diversions at key locations due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s likely visit to Imphal on September 13.
Although there is no official confirmation of the Prime Minister’s visit, preparations are in full swing at Peace Ground in Churachandpur, suggesting that the visit may take place. Lieutenant General Abhijit S. Pendharkar, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Spear Corps, visited Manipur to review the prevailing security situation ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit, Hindustan Times reported.

Manipur Traffic Advisory: Check Affected Roads, Diversions And Other Details
- According to the notification issued by the Superintendent of Police (SP), the southern gate of Kangla, which is less than 200 metres away from the Chief Minister’s official residence, will be exclusively used for VVIP entry and exit.
- On the other hand, the Northern Gate will be designated for entry and exit by VIPs, officials (with vehicle passes), and pedestrians.
- Vehicles carrying the public to attend the function at Kangla will be allowed to drop passengers at the designated points, including Minuthong, Imphal Hotel and Wahengbam Leikai/Uripok Thongkha.
- After dropping off passengers, vehicles must proceed to the allocated parking sites, such as Hatta Kangjeibung, NCC Ground, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex and Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT).
- Vehicles coming from Thoubal will be diverted at the Singjamei Bridge, whereas vehicles coming from Singjamei Chingamakha-Heirangoithong Road will be rerouted at Singjamei Chinga Crossing. Similarly, traffic from the Tiddim and Mayai Lambi sides will be diverted at Keishampat Junction.
- A 10-minute advance cut-off will be enforced on all routes connecting Kangla to the airport during VVIP movement, the advisory added.

However, the ambulance and fire service vehicles will be exempted from the restrictions. Authorities have advised residents to cooperate with the police and have clarified that the restrictions will be enforced during VVIP arrival and departure from Kangla.
