Lok Sabha Ruckus: Lok Sabha was adjourned for around half an hour after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs objected to the LoP and Congress leader, Rahul Gandhi, who raised the issue of China again during the debate on the motion of thanks to the President's address. The Lower House witnessed a major ruckus, leading to papers hurl at the Speaker by the protesting MPs.

Due to the uproar in the Lok Sabha, the proceedings had to be adjourned again until 3 pm. When Speaker Krishna Prasad Tenneti invited Gandhi to speak, the Congress MP tried to make his point by citing national security. Gandhi said that it was a matter of national security related to China and Pakistan. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju objected to this, saying that they were there to listen and that the subject should be dropped.

Action Against Six MPs

Papers were hurled at the Speaker for the second time when Dilip Saikia was sitting on the Chair, prompting action against those who threw papers. The Lok Sabha suspended eight opposition MPs for "disrupting" the House proceedings for the remainder of the Budget Session. The opposition MPs -- Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, Manickam Tagore, Gurjeet Singh Aujla, Hibi Eden, C Kiran Kumar Reddy, Prashant Yadaorao Padole, S Venkatesh, and Dean Kuriakose

An MP Calls The Chair 'Yaar'

During this uproar, a member addressed the Chair using the word "yaar", drawing Speaker's reprimand. The Speaker said this was Parliament, and that he should maintain decorum. What does "yaar" mean, he asked.

Why I'm Being Stopped To Speaking, Asks Gandhi

Day after ruckus over the same issue, Gandhi again raised the issue of the border security with China, citing an unpublished book of retired General Manoj Mukund Naravane, who served as the 28th Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) from December 2019 to April 2022.

"A very important matter in the President's speech is a matter relating to national security. Our relationship between the Pakistanis, the Chinese, and us. There is a very important point in this article that I have authenticated. It speaks about the PM's reaction. Our President's address was about the path India has to take. Today, on the world stage, the main issue in international affairs is the conflict between China and the US. This is central to our President's address. All I am saying is let me make a statement about what happened between China and India and how our the prime minister reacted to it. Why am I being stopped?" Gandhi said in the House.

Gandhi Is Not Above Of Parliament's Rules: Rijiju

Reacting to the development, Rijiju once again slammed Gandhi, saying he is attempting to speak on a issue which not true.

"I have just told the leaders of Congress that LoP Rahul Gandhi can continue his speech. However, what the former army chief did not say, what is not true, and what is not permitted under the rules should not be forced upon the House. He should not try to say such things, as this diminishes the chances of other party MPs speaking. Congress party has said that Gandhi should be given a chance to speak I have told them that because the chair has already decided on this and we cannot give in to this because this does not come in the tradition after the ruling of Lok Sabha speaker, Gandhi is a member of the house he must also agree to this, he is not above the house."
