Meerut Murder Case: Muskan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla, who are kept at the Meerut District Jail for killing merchant navy employee Saurabh Rajput, are suffering with severe drug addiction issues, going into withdrawal and refusing to take any food in pursuit of acquiring some narcotics in jail.

Both Muskan and Sahil requested to stay in close proximity but that has been denied, a jail official told The Times of India. Muskan has been “demanding injections" and Sahil is “restless for marijuana doses", the official said.

Dependency On Drugs

A jail official, on condition of anonymity, told Hindustan Times that their dependency was severe, adding that additional precautions have been taken to prevent any harm to themselves or others.

On March 4, Muskaan and Sahil allegedly stabbed her husband, Saurabh Rajput, multiple times, dismembered his body and concealed the remains in a drum filled with cement. They misled Saurabh's family by sending texts from his phone while on holiday. The horrifying details of the murder came to light when Muskaan confessed to her mother, leading to their arrest on March 18. Saurabh and Muskaan were married in 2016 and had a six-year-old daughter.

Accused Demand Marijuana, Morphine

After their arrest, Muskan and Sahil were remanded to judicial custody. On the very first night of being lodged in jail, Muskan's health started to worsen. The doctors diagnosed her with severe drug addiction and started urgent treatment for her.

Meanwhile, Sahil created a ruckus in the facility and demanded that he be given drugs. He showed extreme restlessness without marijuana and Muskan demanded morphine injections.
