In a stratling incident, over six people got injured in the clashes that erupted between two groups after the Eid prayers in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut. According to the information, groups from the Muslim community clashed after the morning Eid prayers, in which several rounds of bullets were fired from both sides.
The incident has been reported from the Siwalkhas town of the Meerut district. On Sunday, the children from one of the group's sides came to the market for shopping. During that time, there was an altercation between some other children regarding some issue. On which the people around pacified both sides by explaining.
The next day, both sides were returning from the graveyard after reading the Fatiha when an altercation between the two sides ensued. Batons and bullets were used while stones were pelted during the fight. Indiscriminate firing caused panic in the area.
Altercation between Namazis and Police
Meanwhile, some other incidents of clashes were also reported between the police and Namazis. The clashes between police and Namazis erupted after a confrontation over going to the Eidgah for prayers at multiple places.
When the Eidgahs got filled, the police closed all the roads towards them by placing riot control vehicles. Those who faced difficulties in confronted with the police leading to altercations. However, by and large situations remained calmed due to the presence of the heavy police force. After the prayers were over, all the vehicles were removed from the road.
Given the large gatherings, authorities have implemented strict security arrangements in the major cities in UP. As part of the security arrangements, senior police officials, along with paramilitary forces, conducted flag marches to maintain law and order. Moreover, surveillance was increased to ensure a smooth and peaceful celebration.
The Islamic Center of India has advised worshippers to offer namaz inside designated Eidgahs and mosques rather than on public roads. This advisory aims to prevent congestion and maintain public order during the festival.

The police also made elaborate arrangements in Sambhal, which was placed under high alert. 1,300 CCTV cameras, seven Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) companies, and three Rapid Action Force (RAF) units, were deployed to monitor the situation.
Drone cameras were also deployed to conduct the aerial surveillance in the sensitive areas. In Sambhal also a dispute also erupted over who would lead the Eid prayers. A disagreement arose between the Idgah Imam and a local Qari, leading to discussions at the Kotwali police station, after which the issue was resolved peacefully.
