A disturbing incident unfolded in Meerut's Lohiyanagar area on Friday morning, when shopkeepers discovered the body of an unidentified young man lying on their doorstep. However, the situation took a more shocking turn when the shopkeepers reviewed their CCTV footage. The footage revealed a group of police officers, under the cover of night, discreetly placing the corpse in front of one of the shops.

The footage quickly spread across social media, sparking widespread outrage, with many netizens condemning the "local police apathy towards common people."

In response to the public outcry, Meerut SSP Dr. Vipin Tada acted swiftly, suspending L-Block outpost in-charge Jitendra Kumar, constable Rajesh, and terminating the services of home guard Rohtash. "I have also instituted an internal inquiry under SP City Ayush Vikram Singh. The youth is still to be identified," Tada stated.

According to a report by Times of India, it is alleged that the police in the Nauchanadi jurisdiction discovered the unidentified body in the L-Block outpost area on Thursday night. In an attempt to avoid involvement in postmortem procedures, they reportedly moved the body to another jurisdiction and abandoned it outside a stationery shop owned by Ronit Bainsla in Kazipur, under the Lohiyanagar police station, at approximately 1:40 AM.

Bainsla shared his account with TOI, saying, "I saw the body right at the shutter of my stationery shop early in the morning. Other shopkeepers gathered, and we immediately notified the police. Curious about what had happened, some of them reviewed the CCTV footage, and that's when it became clear that men in police uniforms had dumped the body there."
