Meghalaya Murder Case: Key accused in the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case, Sonam Raghuvanshi has confessed to orchestrating her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi's killing. The revelation was made when Sonam was questioned by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Wednesday, sources told news agency IANS. Raja and his wife Sonam went missing while vacationing in Meghalaya's Sohra area on May 23. Raja's body was found in a gorge at Sohrarim near Cherrapunji on June 2. Sonam was located at a Dhaba in Gazipur on Monday, from where UP Police took her into custody. She was then handed over to Meghalaya Police.

Her confession was also formally recorded in front of officials from the Meghalaya Police, confirming her direct involvement in the crime, the sources said, as per the news agency.

Sonam Raghuvanshi, her lover Raj Kushwaha, Anand Kurmi, Akash Rajput, and Vishal Singh Chauhan were produced in a Shillong court following detailed interrogation by the SIT on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Govind, brother of Sonam Raghuvanshi, on Wednesday reached Raja’s house in Indore to meet the latter’s grief-stricken mother. He bowed before Uma Raghuvanshi in respect and said he was with them in their fight for justice and would even fight a case against his sister.

Raja Raghuvanshi’s killing at the hands of hitmen hired by his wife, Sonam, during their honeymoon in Meghalaya has become a topic of discussion across the country. As the probe proceeds further, several shocking revelations have been made by the police in the case. As per reports, Sonam plotted the killing of her husband with the help of her lover Raj Kushwaha. The duo hired three contract killers, who were later found to be friends of Raj.
