Meghalaya Honeymoon Murder: Govind, brother of Sonam Raghuvanshi, on Wednesday reached the house of Raja Raghuvanshi in Indore to meet the latter’s grief-stricken mother. He bowed before Uma Raghuvanshi in respect and said he was with them in their fight for justice and would even fight a case against his sister, Sonam, the prime accused in the murder case. Raja was allegedly killed by assailants hired by his wife, Sonam, during their honeymoon in Meghalaya.

He said he was not aware whether or not Sonam had confessed, but the developments suggest she had planned Raja’s murder. Govind said he apologised to Raja’s family, adding that his sister should be hanged if found guilty.

"She (Sonam) hasn’t confessed to the murder yet, but based on the evidence, I believe she planned it. I have apologised to Raja’s family. They have lost their son. If Sonam is guilty, she should be hanged. I’ve learned everything through the media," he said.

Amid media reports that Sonam had a love affair with Raj Kushwaha, who allegedly helped her in committing the crime, Govind said it was not true and he was only an employee working for them. He said Sonam used to tie the rakhi to him.

Govind made it clear that while his sister may be guilty, his family bears no responsibility in the matter, and that was the reason he came to Raja’s house. He said even his parents have accepted the truth and disowned Sonam.

"I stand with Raja Raghuvanshi, and I will fight this battle for him. Even my parents have accepted the truth, they didn’t know anything before, but after finding out, they themselves decided to boycott Sonam. I have apologised to Raja’s family, and I will always stand by them. We will make sure that Sonam is punished, and we will appoint a lawyer to take legal action against her," he said.

Talking about her interaction with Govind, Raja’s mother said he was not at fault and was concerned about Raja, not Sonam.
