Modi Cabinet 3.0: As Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the oath of office for his historic third consecutive term, President Droupadi Murmu, on the advice of the Prime Minister, announced the allocation of portfolios to the members of the new council of ministers. Senior BJP leader Nirmala Sitharaman among seven women retained the crucial portfolios in the Modi government.
Nirmala Sitharaman: The BJP veteran has retained the crucial Finance Ministry portfolio, continuing to be a key member of the Prime Minister's economic team.
Annapurna Devi: Jharkhand's OBC leader has been appointed Minister of Women and Child Development.
Nimuben Bambhaniya: The BJP member from Gujarat will be an MoS in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution.
Savitri Thakur: The prominent tribal leader from Madhya Pradesh will serve as a Minister of State (MoS) in the Ministry of Women and Child Development.
Raksha Khadse: Among the younger members of the council, Khadse will be an MoS in the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
Anupriya Patel: The only non-BJP woman minister, representing the NDA constituent Apna Dal (Sonelal), will serve as an MoS in two ministries – Health and Family Welfare; and Chemicals and Fertilizers.
Shobha Karandlaje: The three-term Lok Sabha MP from Karnataka has been appointed as an MoS in two ministries – Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises; Labour and Employment.
In Modi 3.0, Rajnath Singh will continue as Defence Minister, Amit Shah as Home Minister, and Nitin Gadkari as Minister of Road Transport. S Jaishankar will retain the Foreign Ministry. Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has been appointed Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development. At the same time, Manohar Lal Khattar has been given the Ministry of Energy and Urban Development.
